Album by Album # 1 - Tim Buckley

With the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman and a fair bit of contemplation about drug culture, as if it will ever change, specifically in relation to talented, driven people, coincidentally or otherwise I was thinking about Tim Buckley who had great talent and addiction to a specific drug in common with Hoffman. I can't off the top of my head think of a solo artist who had a run of more diverse, ambitious albums over such a short timespan. Dylan included. Extraordinary. Dead at 28. Here's a song off each of his albums. Not necessarily the best track off each record. Just what came to mind.

1. Tim Buckley - Song For Jainie

2. Goodbye & Hello - I Never Asked To Be Your Mountain

3. Happy Sad - Buzzin' Fly

4. Blue Afternoon - Blue Melody

5. Lorca - Lorca

6. Starsailor - Song For The Siren

7. Greetings From L.A. - Get on Top

8. Sefronia - Honey Man

9. Look At The Fool - Look At The Fool

Enjoyed listening to the albums I didn't know, Lorca, Sefronia and Look At The Fool this afternoon. All a bit patchy but some nice stuff off the middle album particularly. Tim Buckley. The definition of brave.
