Songs That Mention Other Songs # 2 Phosphorescent

'I sang, “Roll away the stone”.Set up a trembling in my bones.I sat there all alone.Just cried and cried.I saw the moonlight’s mirrored glow.On that old dirty city’s snow.I sat there feeling low.O my, O my.'

I woke up with a Phophorescent song spinning in my head this morning and took a while to identify it so am revisiting this album which I reviewed on Sunday here. There's definitely a strongly religious element to that record which I really didn't go into there. Here's Roll Away The Stone by Mott The Hoople which it namechecks. Strangely, this has never seemed remotely religious to me but Phosphorescent use it for their own purposes.
