The Beatles aren't really the prototype for these bands. That's mostly The Stones, The Kinks, The Yardbirds, Them, The Troggs, The Pretty Things and The Who. Nevertheless, this seems to fit.

Talking of The Yardbirds. Sham 69 recorded a version of this which is best forgotten.
48.Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band
Pretty much anything off the wonderful Safe as Milk slots into this category.
47. The Leaves
Garage is just as much about bands as songs. Here's one of the archetypes.

It's also about blatant, unsubtle drug referencing.

The singer wore a single, black glove. No-one was quite sure why.

The Spoonful weren't really, wholly Garage. But this song, as much as any, epitomises the time.

This lot indirectly led to The MC5 and The Stooges who could easily have featured here. Though they don't!

A great song! Buffalo Springfield did a version of this.
41. The Velvet Underground
The Velvets were too different for Garage. But this song from their first album fits.
