Songs About People # 476 Stan Bowles

When I was growing up in the mid seventies my father used to take me to watch Queens Park Rangers who played in Shepherd's Bush in South West London. They were some team, a side of flair and skill, packed with gifted players; Gerry Francis, Dave Thomas, Don Givens, John Hollins, Frank McLintock and Phil Parkes. But their talisman and maverick genius was Stan Bowles, and old style Number 10, socks round his ankles and chock full of gifts and tricks. Guerilla Indie Band The Others pay tribute on their 2005 debut album.
