Probably the chart that best reflects the way the Pop World is now, rather than the interests and concerns of its readership. Still, it looks nothing like mine, with only Jane Weaver and Perfume Genius ranking highly on this. seven albums in all in both lists.

  1. Of course all lists are idiosyncratic (or hegemonic, if you're Rolling Stone), but St Vincent as the album of the year is particularly odd, I think. Can't really say that it's the "wrong" choice, but I've been scratching my head about this since they published it.

  2. The Guardian love St. Vincent. I think they did the same with her last album a couple of years ago.
